2nd Annual Getting Connected Symposium !

conference

October1, 2015 was a day full with over 200 participant, great speakers, vendors and of course the opportunity of getting connected. Delaware State University student center, opened their doors early for businesses and brands to gain a little more knowledge on key essentials for developing and advancing in their careers.

The event was split into different sessions for the day, where different speakers such as Lucy Brazier, Nat Measley who is the CEO of The Fun Department, Kemetia Foley, and so many other influential speakers have given their insight on maintaining and developing businesses.

Founder and CEO of Executive Secretary Magazine, Lucy Brazier, briefly talked about influencing leadership skills for administrative professionals. She went into depth about career development, management and leadership.

The symposium was a great way of getting to brand and expand your business. Which Kemetia Foley spoke on the importance of social media in the workplace, where she strongly promoted the use of social media as a positive aspect. “Using social media as a tool for administrative professionals,” she stated “This is an opportunity to expand networks. Administrative professionals are only as strong as their resource networks, so I’m hoping people use this opportunity to build their network.”

Overall the symposium was a great success for creating a variety of opportunities, branding, development and planning. There were even vendors that had the opportunity to sell their products. Such as Thirty-One by Jennifer Meister, JFINTV with James Finnely and Traci Lynn fashion jewelry.

Having to catch up with James Finnely, of JFINTV Studios of high quality entertainment company, was branding his first product JFINTV lyrical math. Which is a hip hop math curriculum for middle school students, ” I’ve met some very influential people here today, that I learned a couple things from and I would be able to apply to my business and this opportunity has added value to one’s personal growth.”

We are definitely looking forward to next years 3rd Annual Getting Connected Symposium!
